So I have been playing around with accessory ideas for the past few months, trying to come up with designs that work with my cushions and critters. After making purses and brooches I thought maybe making some jewellery, not something I have tried to make before. I settled on the idea of a necklace that looks a bit like it’s part of a top, a statement necklace, something chunky and unique. As I work with felt I knew it would be hard to create something delicate, and it wouldn’t fit with my other work if I went too much towards precious fragile looking jewellery. I settled on two designs after a lot of experimentation, one made of felted pompoms, that create dense beads, and another which incorporated glass beads in the felting process. It was fun to make products that were out of my comfort zone, plus I enjoyed incorporating a little fox head into my critter necklace 🙂 Below you can see the latest additions to my accessories collection, sunart necklace and critter necklace.
